Traditional Garland Range

Fruit for Life Garland Range uses premium grade fruit, presented in an attractive, traditional garland pack and currently includes sun dried Turkish figs.
A unique source of energy, figs are full of natural fibre and are high source of calcium. For individuals who cannot tolerate other sources of calcium, figs are a great, tasty alternative. Fruit for Life Dried Figs are free of preservatives with absolutely no additives and, like other plant foods, are cholesterol-free.

Classified more as a table fig, Fruit for Life Dried Figs are great served with cured meats, on picnic plates or cheese platters, cooked in puddings, cakes, or just snack this nutritious dried fruit straight from the pack. They compliment goats cheese, fresh white cheese, ham, honey, ginger, bay leaves, rocket, butter, cream, walnuts, almonds, lemons and raspberries.

Once the pack is opened ideally store in an airtight container in the refrigerator as the sweet aroma and sugar content of figs will attract storage-type insects. Over time figs may get a white substance on the surface. This is the natural sugar in the fruit which has crystallised. This crystallisation is accelerated when figs are refrigerated so freezing is not recommended. Sugaring will be dissolved during cooking, by steaming, brief microwave exposure or can be rinsed off with hot running water.

Fruit for Life Garland Apricots are specially selected, extra large apricots which are flavoursome and juicy. They make an ideal snack or entertainer.

Fruit for Life Dried Figs are available year round from the dried fruit section of all major supermarkets and are also available through independent supermarket chains. Fruit for Life Dried Apricots are available from Franklins and independant supermarkets.
